Mackenzie Young

Executive Director

Over the last 6 years, Mackenzie has worked in the senior living sector in various capacities.  Prior to joining Trillium Communities, Mackenzie was a Memory Care/Assisted Living Care Coordinator and truly has a passion for supporting seniors and helping them adjust to the fabulous lifestyle retirement home living offers!  

Mackenzie’s philosophy is “you’re only successful if your team is successful”. Building a strong and personable team is among her top priorities along with creating warm and inviting spaces for residents and their families. Born and raised in Victoria, Mackenzie is passionate about the outdoors and enjoying all the island has to offer – from amazing food to stunning hiking views!  When not in the office, Mackenzie can be found enjoying outdoor pursuits with her partner and fur children.

Rob Kroeker

Assistant Executive Director

Rob Kroeker, Assistant Executive Director: Rob has had the pleasure of serving the residents of Trillium Highgate Lodge since 2013 and counting! He is passionate about creating community, sharing moments of joy, and making Highgate a welcoming place where residents and staff can contribute and feel a part of something greater than themselves. He believes strongly in the power of humour, and the practice of nurturing daily relationships and mutual accountability. Outside of our community, Rob is enjoying a good hike or watching hockey with his wife and dog.

Greta Garriock

Activity Coordinator

Greta Garriock, Activity Coordinator:  Since 2018, Greta has been at Highgate Lodge first hired in Administration, then taking on the role of Activity Coordinator.    Greta first started working in event planning through community fundraising for the Fire Department, Little League baseball and other local organizations and has since transferred this talent to Activities for Seniors.  Greta has a knack for utilizing all our staffs talents to stimulate our residents minds, bodies, and their sense of humour!

Previously, Greta worked at Nova Pacific managing Ross Place in Victoria.  She has lived on the peninsula for the last 30 years where she raised her 3 children and still resides with her current furry-kid, Sophie the dog.

Ralph Koeffler

Chef

Chef Ralph joined Highgate in 2020 during the twilight phase of his illustrious career!  Chef Ralph has worked throughout Canada and the United States from Naples, Florida to Phoenix Arizona to Toronto and back to his hometown in Thunder Bay before eventually coming to call Victoria his home.  Outside of creating exquisite culinary experiences for the residents at Highgate Lodge, Chef Ralph enjoys hiking, playing tennis, biking and traveling where he likes to indulge his senses with local cuisine and robust wines

Sean Allen

Environmental Services Manager

Sean started his career with Trillium Communities in 2017 as the Maintenance Coordinator at Highgate Lodge.  In 2022 Sean was promoted to Environmental Services Manager for Trillium’s long term care portfolio in Victoria.  No concern is too small for this gentleman and Sean enthusiastically assists residents and staff with just about anything!  Outside of work, Sean enjoys spending time with family and exploring the west coast.
