Must-Watch TV Shows and Movies for Older Adults

Older couple enjoying a movie night

Let’s be honest; nothing can truly beat the feeling of sitting down, getting comfy with a bowl of popcorn and putting on a good movie or TV show to watch. Whether it’s a solo movie night or you’re spending time with loved ones, movies and TV shows are a great way to spend a night having a good laugh or even a good cry.

It’s not just a good time; watching TV (surprisingly) holds some benefits for older adults! Comedies provide you with the best medicine, laughter, which can help lower blood pressure, improve your mood, and help you relax. Watching TV is also the perfect opportunity to exercise your mind by watching educational shows like cooking shows or Jeopardy, or recalling characters and events from previous episodes.

Finding something good to watch is usually the hardest part, so we’ve put together a list of TV shows and movies that we think are perfect for older adults to enjoy!
